Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents Push Accidental Death Rates to New Highs

What are the top causes of fatal car accidents?

For the first time, the National Safety Council has ranked accidental deaths as the third leading cause of death in the United States.  Previously, the top three causes of death were reported as heart disease, cancer, and chronic lower respiratory diseases, with accidents coming in fourth.  The NSC reports that over 161,000 people died in accidents in 2016.  Every second, an American is accidently injured somewhere across the country, with car accidents leading as the number one cause of accidental deaths.

Six Flags Great Adventure Sued By Parents of Injured Minor


Can I sue an amusement park for my injuries?

After a young girl was injured at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, her parents have filed suit.  The minor child was injured while riding on the El Diablo rollercoaster in September of 2015.  The ride involves several loops that leave the rider hanging upside down while restrained by a lap belt and over the shoulder harness.  According to the lawsuit, the child’s belt disengaged while she was riding the coaster.  She had to hold onto the shoulder bar just to keep herself in the seat as the roller coaster went through its loops.

What causes wrong way car accidents?

A Florida man was recently killed while driving the wrong way on the New Jersey Turnpike.  Police report that the accident happened around 11:30 pm on a Saturday.  The 21-year-old driver was driving southbound in the northbound lanes when his vehicle crashed head on into another vehicle.
